That’s the underlying basis why most affiliates or webmasters easily almost shell out thousands of dollars just to get top rankings on the search engines. Once you are sponsoring a product or service in you web page, you need to have more visitors that can be likely consumers to your products and services. This is one of the essential rules to succeed in online marketing business. Here, you just need to start and get it right and you can do some things wrong but still manage to thrive. Don’t ever try to mistake it because no matter how hard you work, you can never find yourself on the way to accomplishment.

I guess everyone will see eye to eye if I mentioned that building enough highly targeted traffic is the key to success in affiliate marketing business. This tactic is verified to be helpful if you’re sponsoring or reselling products or services online. One of the most reliable and most secured marketing techniques that affiliate marketers can exercise is the practices of paying for performance. This means that your money used only on results such as additional sales and incomes.

Here's a real life example... Paying for performance could mean granting a commission to an partner only when new sale is finished. This practice assures you real revenue because you can already total the amount money you have to spend for every new sale made. Also, you can avoid spending any marketing bucks because every cent you spend has either come from sale or will generate a sale in the future.

And one of the verified and most proficient ways of acquiring sales in affiliate marketing business is by drawing Ultra-targeted traffic towards your web site and converting them to sales by means of “Pay-Per-Click”.

Overture claims to be the Internet’s best pay-per-click search engine. It is the world’s leading resource of Pay-For-Performance search on the web. And what’s more enticing about Overture? When you advertise in Overture, your site will appear in the leading U.S. search engines like Yahoo, MSN, Netscape, AltaVista and more.

Pay per click search engines resembling Overture can get impressive sales because they let you to pay for performance by inviting precisely targeted traffic to your market. This means leads who are searching for what you are selling. Overture’s secret is to drive laser-targeted traffic to your website bidding on keywords that are highly related to the product or services that you are selling. The practice works this way: the more exact the keyword is, the better results you’ll receive and the less you’ll need to spend for each new sale.

Overture brings targeted traffic by keeping you away from the general keywords that are very common and expensive by casting a wide net of mega-focused keywords that are more targeted, not so expensive, and with higher conversion rate.

Overture’s strategy also enables your visitors to respond. And what’s important once you get your visitors to take action? Well, you are given a chance to develop lifetime customers that will love your product and will buy from you over an over again. Bear in mind that one-time sales can’t be a key in creating a highly-profitable business especially online. You can only achieve this through PPCSEs like Overture, which gets your site visitors to respond. And once it happens, you can constantly market and sell your products to them.

Another tactic that Overture implements in order to gain laser-targeted traffic is to have a “Back-Up Response” for those who “almost bought” your product on the first visit. To successfully do this, you need to market and advertise to them over and over again until you make them a new customer. Offer them an incentive so that they’ll allow you to advertise to them over a certain time span by means of e-mail or post mail.

Now as you can see overture is a good way to gain laser targeted, very cheap traffic... but there is an even better way called search engine optimization.. you can obtain a FREE detailed email course on Search Engine Optimization at:

http://www.businesstips101.com

To Your Success,

Cody Goodman

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Download To PSP?

by: Eddie Wolfe

So, you'ree a PSP game and music fan. You've got a Sony PSP and you want to play more than just games. You are probably wondering big time how you download music and films etcetera to your Sony PSP. To be honest it is amazingly easy to do. It takes only a few minutes to do each song. You could be listening to all your faves in no time at all. Plus the coolest games available.

Firstly you cannot connect your PSP direct directly to the web unless you own a wireless router. You can however, download the PSP MP3 files from special PSP download websites, these include many great games, ebooks, videos and lots of other stuff. After you have saved each file to your computer hard drive you must then transfer it over to your PSP. PSP music must be in the proper format or it will not play properly, even if you use a file that is a standard mp3 one. It still must be in the specific MP3/PSP format.

You need a special USB cable that will connect from your computer to the PSP plus a ripper program that copies mp3 music files to the Sony PSP format. A good standard software program is the CD MP3 Ripper, and this will be able to do pretty much anything you need to do. Once you have saved the mp3 files, all you need do is select from the options menu the "PSP Audio Format", and the file will be saved correctly.

There is an infinitely easier alternative to doing this manually! There are many websites who specifically target PSP downloads. They are offering ready formatted PSP music, videos and games all immediately downloadable. Some of these are free of charge (with usually quite limited choices) but the better ones have usually a single one off charge, subsequently you can download songs to your PSP, as many as you want! In addition, you get PSP videos, games and all the extras. When you join a PSP download club they will always supply all software instructions to convert normal files to PSP compatible formats. A complete step-by-step instruction showing how to convert Sony MP3 files from normal mp3 files and then put them on your PSP.

I know this for sure, I've attempted to do this manually and it took me quite some time before I got anything to work properly, and after seeing how long this entire process was taking, I just gave up and joined a PSP download site! You can do 1 song quickly, but if you want a hundred tunes, foirget it.

So, do you want to begin downloading cool things to your PSP?

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Double Your Sales Appointments In Half The Time? - Part 4

by: Jeff Hardesty

Here are the final 3 ‘Sales Prospecting Errors’ that lead to low sales appointment success. Find out how to avoid the ‘Slippery Slope’ of low sales appointment conversion ratios.

In Part 3, How To Double your Sales Appointments in Half the Time, we reviewed and remedied the first 3 sales prospecting errors that start us down the ‘Slippery Slope’ to low Sales prospecting conversation ratios.

So let’s continue to address the final 3 sales prospecting errors, discuss some proven solutions that will head us toward our worthy goal of spending Less time to achieve more targeted ‘Top-down’ sales appointments.

Sales Prospecting Error #4

We fail to develop an effective Call to Action; strategic words and phrases that create a positive 'visual' reference to the Prospect of what happens during the initial appointment and how long it takes.

Develop your Call to Action communication as a visual block of time in which a ‘Step-by-step’ process occurs with the objective of having your ‘Top-down’ prospect inform you they perceive enough of a potential benefit to take the next step in your evaluation process.

How long does it take to run your 1st appointment in your current sales process; 30, 45, 60 minutes? I’d estimate in the small to medium size B-to-B arena the average 1st appointment timeline is about 35 minutes. That is to re-cap why you are there, to inquire about their current state of the union, to overview your solution offering and to gain commitment for the next step in your sales process.

But if you ask a business person with fiscal authority for more than 15 minutes of their time initially, your closing ratios on a sales prospecting call will go down dramatically.

I don’t know the scientific reason why, but I do understand the logical explanation. These business people are busy. It’s that simple. Every minute of the day is accountable to moving closer to their business objective. There is ‘No room in the Inn’ for distractions that are not in line with their business objectives.

Especially the idea of “Meeting with some stranger that is only interested in selling me something that I don’t need just so they can make a living”.

Because in their minds, if they knew something was broken, they’d already have gone in and fixed it.

Ultimately your key objective for the 1st appointment is to ‘Gain Commitment to Take the Next Step’ in your sales process, whether that step is a diagnostic survey, a demo, a site visit or a proposal. But when your sales prospecting methodology is a ‘Top-down’ approach, these C-level prospect contacts do not get into the nitty-gritty of your evaluation process. They won’t walk you through the office opening up closet doors to evaluate telephone systems or help you pull current service invoices from file drawers. They want to understand what’s in it for them from a financial aspect, what your diagnostic process looks like in order to see if the solution fits and what timelines there are to see the results. And they don’t like major change.

But if your 15-minute Call to Action communication is effective, they will delegate these tasks to a lower level to effectively conduct the evaluation to qualify if your solution offering will help them with their business challenges. By them delegating down, it will help you minimize any service bias within the organization with non-decision makers. And that lowers sales cycles and increases sales closing ratios.

In summary, frame up your Call to Action under the theme of ‘The Business Reason to Meet’ and visually communicate the steps in your diagnostic process, the potential benefits (Along Economic terms in line with Business challenges) and what they will get in return for the time invested in the 15-minute face-to-face appointment.

Sales Prospecting Error #5

We don’t support our ‘Call to Action’ with 3rd party valuators parallel to the Prospects business objectives; valuators like business statistics, appointment performance ratios, ROI figures and relevant success stories.

Here’s a hard-knock lesson on sales prospecting conversations and one you need to put to memory.

A targeted Business prospect does not care what you think. I repeat; they do not care what you think or what you personally want. After all, they don’t know you yet…and that’s fair. That’s the reality of the moment. After they get to know you, they will respect you’re personal perspective on what you feel is good for them, but not now. It’s too soon. Got It?

Here’s my point. How many times have you heard someone talking to a prospect and communicating the words, “Here’s what I’d like to do”, or “I think you should have me come in to meet and …”, or “In my experience, here’s what I’ve seen.”

Get my point? We already realize we are perfect strangers to this target prospect, so why should we reference what WE think or what WE have found to work. It’s not valid data. So here’s the golden rule:

Avoid 1st Party references when communicating on a sales prospecting call.

Replace 1st Party references with 3rd Party Valuators.

When you communicate the ‘Business Reason to Meet’, back it up with real numbers; business data like your own conversion ratios of helping prospects become clients or your overall company’s ratios. What about condensed case studies of current customers that hold the same title of responsibility in the same industry? Or how about accumulating business ROI statistics in relevant modules in line with prospect business issues and challenges?

3rd party references to support the ‘Business Reason to Meet’ should be specific and applicable to your Prospect’s world, and not visually project a one-sided salesperson view or a marketing brochure.

Sales Prospecting Error #6

We fail to document all possible Objections and develop Powerful communication templates to negotiate 3rd Solutions.

“There are only a finite amount of scenarios in any selling process and if you identify, train to and measure each and every one, you are on your way to excellence.”

That statement I coined some years back is especially true in a sales prospecting conversation.

It means there are only a finite number of objections you encounter over the telephone when attempting to set a 1st appointment with your Target contact.

Statements like, “Send me some information”, and “I don’t handle that…so and so does”.

Or what about the popular, “I’m happy with my current Vendor” and ‘I’m under a Contract”?

Identify all of them and develop Powerful communications templates in line with each one.

Perception is Reality.

Your target sales prospects initially will put you into a ‘Perception bucket’ you do not belong in and you can't afford to be in. They want to fit you into a past experience, good or bad. It's up to you to differentiate yourself from the very beginning when directly responding to concerns and objections spoken, unspoken, or implied.

‘Systemize’ your Sales Prospecting System into individual Components and Elements and ‘Practice before you Preach’.

You’re only as good as the intellectual capital you share throughout your sales organization. That will keep you ahead of the competition.

Understand the 6 errors that have been discussed in this article series and decide to do the opposite. Develop best practices and business communication paths parallel to each possible scenario. Because best practices are techniques that through experience and measurement more often than not lead to the desired result.

Then invest in the technology to bundle it up into a learning system that you can become certified to, adopt it and adapt it over time.

We understand why Professional athletes practice prior to the event. Professional sales people need to do the same.

Because if you can double the amount of targeted sales appointments and spend half the time achieving it, it will save you a bunch of valuable time, make you more money and get you the recognition you deserve.

And that’s a worthy cause indeed.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Double Your Sales Appointments In Half The Time? - Part 3

by: Jeff Hardesty

There are 6 Major 'Sales Prospecting Errors' that lead to low sales appointment success. In this article we will discuss the ramifications and remedies of the 1st three.

In Part 2 we discussed how to determine if a sales action is a critical sales performance competency, and we determined the following:

· It is an Action that is tied directly to the end result (Good or Bad)

· It can be individually isolated and trained to for Improvement

· It can be objectively ‘Benchmarked’ and Measured

Next, we identified that the act of communicating one-on-one to a ‘Targeted’ prospect with the objective of setting an appointment as a KEY Core Sales Competency, because nothing happens until you get in front of someone.

And the measurement of that competency was determined to be your ‘Conversation-to-Appointment’ ratio which nationally averages out to somewhere between 4%-18%.

And if we choose to build a ‘Prospecting System’ to support a sales performance training objective to improve that ratio it would enable us to set more targeted ‘Top-down’ appointments in less time. And achieving that would allow us to obtain additional results and make us more money.

Not an unworthy mission for sure.

Additionally, we listed (6) sales prospecting reasons why the national ‘Conversation-to-Appointment’ ratio is only 4%-18%.

Our mission for Part 3 is to isolate each of these reasons, understand why the majority of the sales population lives by the ‘Definition of Insanity’ (Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result) and then develop alternative strategies to raise our Conversation-to-appointment ratio.

Sales Prospecting Error #1

We don’t seek to first (Before we pick up the telephone) understand the Prospect’s internal business challenges parallel to our solutions offering, and then model our appointment communication approach around it.

How many times have you received a solicitation call and listened to a stranger communicate nonspecifically about who they are and what they want. Let me say that again…”Who THEY are and what THEY want.”

Just the other day I received a telephone call (I accept them ALL because they provide a great X2 training ‘Lead source’) and the nice lady on the other end of the line started to tell me all about who she was and what her company did.

I let her go on for a while and then asked her a specific, closed-ended question:

“Do you understand who I am and what I’m trying to accomplish as it relates to what you are selling?”

Well, she did not. So I kindly left the door open to her if she decided to check out my website and find out (first) “Who I am and what I want.”

Don’t you think that’s fair? After all, aren’t most business people (Business levels tied to fiscal responsibility) open to learning about ways to recover costs, improve productivity, decrease risk, increase profits or provide a measurable Return on investment as long as it gets to the point and in line with one’s own ‘Internal language’… not in a nonspecific marketing language of product/service and feature-benefit.

Instead of “Who you are and what you want,” try switching to “What you know specifically about ‘Me, Myself and I’; MY responsibilities, MY business objectives and how you think you can help ME meet them.

The web is a great resource tool for investigating general business objectives of a company; items like business web sites, 10K reports, annual reports, investor sections, Press releases and published articles. Scanning those items prior to picking about the telephone is your first winning step in the process; “Who they are”.

Now for the second part; “What they want.” Think of this in terms of title of responsibility and how your offering (if the shoe fits) can help them meet their personal business objectives or what I like to phrase ‘Marching Orders’. If you don’t know, go get some Business Acumen training around the title of responsibilities you choose to call on. Because you want to be able to discuss specific business challenges as it relates to their title of responsibility.

Or if you are a self-directed person, do what I’ve done for years. Interview each new client and ask them what type of communication would make them sit up and take notice coming from a stranger’s initial business contact. Develop a stock series of questions to allow you to document what is important to them as it pertains to accepting business appointments and outsourcing solution providers.

You’d be amazed at the amount of valuable data you can collect just by asking for 5 additional minutes after closing a new sale. ‘Go to school’ on your new clients and earn a Masters degree in ‘Business Title Insight’.

Sales Prospecting Error #2

We settle for a business level of contact that has no direct fiscal authority.

Your ‘Playing Field’ is who you decide to call on and why. And there are basically (2) strategies in picking your ‘Playing Field’; a ‘Bottom-up’ approach or a ‘Top-down’ approach.

The following is an example of a Bottom-up approach. A Telecommunications rep initiates a telephone call into a company and asks the question “Who handles your telecommunications needs?” Guess where they are sent? If you said ‘office manager’ you guessed right. If you said ‘Head Janitor’ you weren’t far off. Is there anything ‘wrong’ with that? Not really; it’s legal and a lot of folks out there do it.

But let’s think through this option as a ‘Business person’ would. Historically, a bottom-up approach promotes a:

· Lower 1st appointment to Proposal ratio

· Lower Closing ratio

· Higher Sales cycle

· Lower Average revenue per sale

That being said, from a Business person view, if we had our choice, we would choose a ‘Top-down’ approach; meeting with the highest appropriate level of contact for our product/service.

And this is important. If our product/service is tied to a measurable Return on Investment, in soft or hard dollars over time, we need to be initially engaged with the correct title in our Prospect company. And that’s the fiscal authority that can make a business decision in line with our business solution.

Sales Prospecting Error #3

We sell our ‘product/service’ instead of selling the diagnostic steps in our ‘Evaluation’ Process

So far we have decided to call on the highest appropriate level of contact for our service offering, someone that is tied to the P&L; simply, they have some ‘Skin in the Game’. And we know with a ‘Top-down’ strategy we need to understand who our target Prospect is and what they’re trying to accomplish as it relates to what we are selling. And that’s BEFORE we pick up the telephone, right?

Imagine now we make that prospecting call and start to talk about our ‘Widget’; meaning our Product’s features and benefits, our excellent customer service, how many years we’ve been in business and our fantastic customer retention rate.

Are you beginning to understand now why the average ‘Conversation-to-appointment’ ratio is 4-18%? You might as well read off your Marketing Department’s latest brochure. This is a major sales prospecting mistake because it doesn’t speak first to the correlation between what your Prospects general business challenges are (By industry and title of responsibility) and how your service has helped other business people with the same titles and internal challenges.

The $100,000 question is how one goes about transitioning from a Product/service specific conversation to a ‘Business Reason to Meet’ conversation.

My answer to this question is to communicate your company’s service solution as a ‘System’. One definition of a ‘system’ is a series of Components and Elements that when working in unison affects a required result. It makes things better. It lowers that ‘Business Challenge’ wall.

Those ultimate business results could be cost recovery, lower overhead, higher employee production, increase profit margin, more return on investment, faster time to market, etc. That depends on your particular system’s solutions and what business challenges they are tied to.

The ‘Components’ of your system are sub-systems comprising a series of elements that deal with particular business issues. As an example, if you were a Security Solution Provider your components might be themed Loss Prevention, Business Operations and Risk Management, each again dealing with a relevant business challenge.

The ‘elements’ of your ‘System’ are the individual products/services that you provide your clients depending on their unique business challenges and where they may have some ‘leaks in the ship’. Communicating to individual elements specifically during a prospecting sales call will take you down the ‘Slippery slope’ of low sales appointment conversion ratios and low sales commissions.

In-between your Components and elements you have internal Business issues. In the same Security Solution Provider example, your prospect’s business issues could be Fire/Life Safety, Theft, Sweet-hearting, Vandalism, Sabotage, Robbery, and Harassment just to name a few.

It’s your responsibility for an ‘effective’ prospecting sales call to sell the ‘Diagnostic steps’ in your evaluation process; to appraise if your ‘System’, with its series of Components and elements can facilitate lowering your prospect’s ‘Business Challenge’ Wall; effectively gaining a Return on investment in a measurable way; because ‘Business people’ are accountable to ROI.

In Part 4; How to Double Your Sales Appointments in Half the Time, we will discuss the final 3 Sales Prospecting Errors and outline some proven solutions that will head us toward our worthy goal of spending Less time to achieve more targeted ‘Top-down’ sales appointments.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Double Your Sales Appointments In Half The Time? - Part 2

by: Jeff Hardesty

Why is ‘Setting Sales Appointments’ a Critical Sales Performance Competency and How Do You Build a Prospecting System to Set More Sales Appointments in Less Time?
By Jeff Hardesty

In Part 1, we summarized that you may have the best service in the world and the best widget in its category. But if you can't physically get in front of your targeted business prospects on a routine basis you won’t meet your revenue objectives.

And we discussed these (3) realities:

· If you double your new appointments you will double your revenue... regardless of your closing ratio

· Not setting enough new business appointments leads to Sales employee turnover, sub-par revenue results and longer Ramp-to-Quota for new hires

· The communication act of asking for a Business appointment should be internally declared a KEY sales competency and trained to individually

So logically, sales organizations should be willing to develop and provide ‘Best Practice’ support systems to their sales teams for ‘Measurable’ performance results in line with effectively setting sales appointments.

Why is a Conversation-to-Appointment Ratio a core sales competency?

Because it’s a sales skill set that is measurable around an essential task; sales prospecting and setting business appointments. It has a purpose and is directly tied to the end results; good or bad.

In this case, it is to introduce and education the value of your product or service to a specific individual or group. It initiates your selling process. It doesn't matter if you are having this conversation by telephone, cold-calling in person, on elevators, or just yelling from one rooftop to another; it is a communication skill set that is essential to your sales success. It’s what you say and how you say it.

Here are a few prerequisites of whether or not something should be declared a core competency:

#1

Is it an essential component to the sales mission or is it just an ingredient in the recipe?

Think of a sports person. What are a golfer's essential competencies from tee-off to last putt? Are the ball and club core competencies? Or are the core competencies the golf swing and putting stroke?

How about a basketball player with the essential competencies of passing, dribbling, and shooting?

Hint: Don't relate an Indy car pit crew putting gas in the fuel tank as a competency.

#2

You must be able to be measure it routinely and accurately. Ask yourself if you could measure it with a napkin, pencil, and calculator?

That way you’ll be able to know if you're performing this business activity better than your competitors.
It's sort of like knowing if your team is "Blocking and Tackling" better than your opponent's team in a football game.

Because at the end of the day, it’s the individual (Or the team) with the best overall stats that wins.

#3

You should be able to apply "Timely Training" and "Powerful Routines" around each core competency.

We all know what sales training is. But do we understand why sales training fails?

And to understand this…it becomes important to understand what I mean when I use the term…"Timely Training."

Timely Training means you have in place appropriate structures for learning and application. You have to be able to define useful short-term goals, long term objectives and performance benchmarks, but also measure each participant’s progress. Have participants work closely with qualified trainers for proper follow-up and support.

But most importantly…"Timely Training" should be focused on only one key sales competency at a time.

That means you never move on to your next training objective (In-line sales competency) until your intended ‘benchmark’ performance metric is realized.

"Powerful Routines" are Best Practices internal to each Core Competency that result in the highest ratio of success. It’s a technique or communication process that through experience has proven to get the best result parallel to a particular sales scenario.

As an example, when a prospect says “Just send me some information” we identify that communication as an objection. 95% of the time it’s a polite way of getting rid of us. Deep down inside we know what happens to the information. It goes in the ‘circular file’. Bottom line, it keeps both the Post Office and the office Janitor busy. One delivers these 'information requests' and the other one throws them out.

What’s your current ‘Powerful Routine’ to effectively communicate to a third solution, because none of us want to be in the ‘Postal’ Business.

Key Learning Point:

There are only so many scenarios in any sales process. If you isolate them, train to each one of them with Powerful Routines and then measure the outcome, you are on your way to success.

Take for example setting ‘Top-down’ business appointments. We’ve already decided it would be a benefit to our sales success if we could reduce the time it took to achieve the necessary number of ‘Top-down’ appointments.

In building an effective learning system to improve your Conversation-to-appointment ratio from the national average of 4-18%, you must first understand why that competency ratio is only 4-18%.

With that in mind, here’s what I know to be true:

1. We don’t seek to first (Before we pick up the telephone) understand the Prospect’s internal business objectives parallel to our solutions offering, then model our appointment approach around it

2. We settle for a business level of contact that has no direct fiscal authority

3. We sell our ‘product/service’ instead of selling the diagnostic steps in our ‘Evaluation’ Process

4. We fail to develop an effective Call to Action; strategic words and phrases that create a positive 'visual' reference to the Prospect of what happens during the initial appointment and how long it takes

5. We don’t support our ‘Call to Action’ with 3rd party valuators parallel to the Prospects business objectives; valuators like business statistics, appointment performance ratios, ROI figures and relevant success stories

6. We fail to document all possible Objections and develop Powerful communication templates to negotiate 3rd Solutions

These (6) ‘Here’s What I Know to be True’ factors are where you should begin your sales prospecting and sales performance improvement journey, because the definition of insanity is doing the same old thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

In Part 3 of ‘How to Double Your Sales Appointments in Half the Time’, we will take an in depth look at these 6 failure factors and flip them 180% into individual powerful routines to effectively set more ‘Top-down’ business appointments in less time.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Double Your Sales Appointments In Half The Time? - Part 1

by: Jeff Hardesty

Sales organizations live by growth. And Sales Growth is measured by sales revenue. If you want to know how to increase sales revenue…there are only three ways to do it.

Sales organizations live by growth. And Sales Growth is measured by sales revenue. If you want to know how to increase sales revenue…there are only three ways to do it:

1. Increase the number of new sales
2. Increase the amount per sale
3. Increase the frequency of sales per account

If you look at the first step in increasing our revenue, you see it involves finding new sales. How do we do that? We set more appointments. In other words, you must start your sales process more often over a week, month and year.

Now you can do that one of two ways. You can call on more people or you can convert more initial conversations to appointments. The second is the only way to do it without killing yourself. And that is the focus of this workshop.

Before we get into that I want to go over a very simple (but very important) mathematical fact with you.

Here it is.

When you double your new appointments set, you double your revenue. (Regardless of your Closing ratio)

Now that sounds so simple. And it is. And right now you're probably asking yourself something like…Ok, Jeff, if it's that simple, why doesn't everybody just do it then? Or, "Hey! I only have so many hours in the day…if I double my appointments, I would have to double all of my work."

Not so fast. Obviously, I wouldn't have much of a career in this business if all I had to say to you was…"If you work twice as hard or put in twice the number of hours, you'll make twice as much money." No. What I'm talking about is a proven way for you to actually work less by wasting a lot less time, but STILL having twice the number of appointments to show for it. Less time…more Results.

What I'm referring to is ‘Skill-set’ improvement. That's right. Because it's our skills (or lack thereof) that keeps us grinding it out day in day out. It's the lack of effective skills that keeps you ineffectively busy, less productive and earning far below your potential.

Bottom line; Most of the sales people are just not good enough at setting appointments. And there's no reason for it. Because, it's just not that hard to do if you just learn a few PROVEN techniques.

Look. The main reason we're not so good at "appointment setting" is because we don't identify and isolate the action of communicating to achieve a face-to-face appointment for initiating a sales process. (Or what I prefer to call the prospect education process).

That means you have to isolate it and treat it as a separate (but essential) part of your recipe for success. You have to dissect it like a surgeon. You have to analyze every component of it. You have to assign Powerful Routines to each possible scenario. Then you have to systematically train to a process so you operationally outperform your peers and your competitors.

In essence, you must be willing to raise your right hand and "swear" to become a "Master of Prospecting." You must make this commitment and follow through before you go on to commit to anything else.

You need to observe this act of communication as your first (and most important) core competency.

Face it. Without mastering the basics, you'll always be lost. And you'll never become very effective or efficient. If you were comparing selling to golf, setting appointments would be like hitting it off the tee. And if you can't consistently hit it "straight and long" off the tee, you can't play. And you certainly can't win!

Here is a foreign term to most sales people.

What is a "Conversation-to-Appointment Ratio?"

You know, I've been acquainted with a lot of sales organizations over the years, and not one of them has ever identified as an essential competency, promoted as, trained to, and measured this critical performance indicator called a "Conversation-to-Appointment Ratio."

Well, just because no one does, doesn't make it right, does it?

So why is it important, you ask? Good question; and one worth going into.

It’s quite simple. The Achilles Heel of most sales organizations is not creating enough new opportunities on a routine basis. And that leads to 3 bad things; not meeting revenue objectives, not ramping a new-hire to Quota in a Pre-determined amount of time and unnecessary sales employee turnover due to low appointment activity.

All have ‘Hard Dollar’ consequences. The first one you leave on the table, and the next two go down the drain, never to be recovered.

Here is a hypothetical question. Let's say you're starting up a sales division for the new Widget Company. The objective for the direct sales force is to promote your widgets to small and medium-size businesses. You have a limited budget for marketing, so you have to rely on the fundamentals of "good ole" Sales 101 for your first year's revenue results. You must commit to becoming proficient at operational effectiveness, or basic "Blocking and Tackling."

One of your first objectives is to retain a qualified sales team of 100 reps in ten cities.

You decide to go to a headhunter to speed things a long. Mike contacts you representing the ABC Recruiting Company, and offers to provide you with qualified candidates. He gives you two choices:

- A pool of candidates with 90% Closing ratios (The expensive package)
- A pool of candidates with a 65% Conversation-to-appointment ratio (The less expensive package)

The offer is one or the other, not a mix of both. Which would you choose?

If you picked the first group, you're in for a risky ride. Because no matter how good a closer you hire - you can't close someone that you're not in front of. Remember, you have no monies budgeted for creating customers through traditional marketing efforts. If this doesn't seem realistic or attractive, you may want to consider the second group.

In the second group, getting in front of the appropriate target prospect is a skill set that comes along with the package. Now based on your metrics - all you have to understand is how many appointments are needed each week to get to your monthly revenue goals. Then you just chunk that number into smaller daily goals. Now you have some accurate, dependable forecasting on your hands. Data you can depend on. And as long as you educate your people on just how you arrived at your first activity number, (it does change), they will be able to believe in it and accomplish it.

Let's summarize for a moment.

You may have the best service in the world. You may have the best widget in its category, hands down. It may have the best price and the best guarantee in the world. But if you can't physically get in front of your targeted business prospects, you just don't have the "Right to Win" in this highly competitive marketplace called business to business sales.

Jeff Hardesty is President of JDH Group, Inc. and the Developer of the X2 Sales System®, a blended training system that teaches sales professionals the competency of setting C-level business appointments. I would like to point to some of these out to you and show you how you can avoid them and drive targeted traffic to your site.

Accident #1: Do Not Rely Solely on Search Engines

Search engines are just one small part of driving traffic to your site on the Internet. I have spoken with tons of people who think driving quality traffic on the Internet is based upon how well they rank in the search engine.

You may do well momentarily, however, when the search engines change their formula your site may take a nasty fall. The formula I am talking about is known as an algorithm. Algorithms are used in search engines as a means of determining To how well your site ranks.

Avoid this traffic disaster and you’ll be well on your way to driving traffic to your site.

Accident #2: Do Not Forget About Your Repeating Visitors

It is always been the focus of other people to drive new traffic to their website… myself included. You may be so concerned with achieving better results that you forget who actually helped you achieve success.

You probably start each day thinking about how you can drive new visitors to your website. You are looking to fill your site with daily visitors and throwing up a prayer in hopes they will return. Day after day it becomes an endless cycle.

While I admire this attitude, try and focus on bringing repeat visitors to your site. Here is an example… Let’s say you sell golf equipment online and I visited your site two weeks ago. I purchased a pair of golf shoes. I received the shoes in the mail the following week and the shoes reminded me that I needed a golf glove. A few days later I am trying to find your site on the Internet. Uh Oh… I can’t remember where I bought the shoes and my wife threw out the box.

I guess I will buy the golf glove from one of your competitors.

Remember, repeat visitors are great for your website. You are instilling a level of confidence with your customers and they are willing to revisit your site.

If you have a web site that’s got a lot of quality content on the people are going to come back over and over again. The quality content you’re creating will also help your search engine rankings.

Learn how to help other people and you will make money. Sell your own products or offer affiliate products. The key to your success will be repeat visitors.

Accident #3: You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks

You constantly need to be learning about the latest tactics available on the Internet. Some of these methods will actually help you increase targeted traffic to your website. I can tell that you are very serious about learning how to drive targeted traffic to your site. Congratulate yourself for learning something new and remember there will always be new and emerging techniques.

I was taught a lot about Internet marketing by some pretty old school fellows. There’s a reason they don’t exist online anymore.

You have to keep in mind that search engines and links aren’t the only way to drive traffic to your website. You’re reading this article and getting a free course online… you are receiving my emails you are on the forefront of this war. I recommend that you try something new and drive targeted traffic to your website.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Do Retirement Financial Planning?

by: Jon Arnold

There has always been a need for retirement planning and today is certainly no different. There are 401(k)s and many other types of retirement plans that are available to you. You will need to take the time needed to evaluate what your current financial needs are and what you expect the future to hold.

Recent events, such as the rise in energy costs and the ever-skyrocketing health care costs need to be factored in. Although gas prices have been fluctuating lately, I think they are going to go back up, possibly even surpassing the extremes we saw all too recently. These types of events can take a toll on your retirement plan very quickly. Prudent planning begins early and you need a good source of information. Websites like http://jag-info-resources.com/retirement/ are an excellent resource to go to find answers to the questions you may have.

Did you know that most retirement plans have a ceiling of 10% of your pre-tax wages that you can contribute? While that may sound good when you view it against a 2% inflation rate, you must keep in mind that your planning today is not just for the ideal future, but the future that will be reality for you if things turn out to not be ideal or according to your plans today.

By starting early and contributing the maximum that you can afford, you will have a better chance of being prepared for the unforeseen. This is made much easier today because your 401k plan is now transferable from one employer to another. This allows you to continue to grow your retirement account even when you choose to change jobs or even careers.

Unsure of what you will need for retirement? There are calculators like the one at my site as shown in my author box below that will help you figure it out for yourself. This is a helpful tool that lets you see if you are on track or not. Don’t forget that life expectancy is getting longer. When Social Security was passed in the 1930s people lived about 2 years after retirement. Today you can expect to live 20-30 years past retirement and, suddenly, the amount you need to retire comfortably with a major change in lifestyle gets very large.

Lets say that today you need $40,000 to live on and you retire in 20 years, you will need a minimum of $850,000 to carry you through retirement. That is assuming that you will live an additional 20 years after you retire and are in good health. There is something to be said for debt reduction as being part of your retirement planning, as well, since the last thing you want to do is go into retirement with a ton of debt still hanging over your head.

Having $40,000 a year to live on with little to no debt will obviously go farther than if you still have the same debt load as you do now. If you reduce your debt load by the same amount that you save for retirement, you double your retirement savings.

One cannot have a conversation about retirement without the subject of taxes coming into it. The money you put into your 401(k) is pre-tax so you will pay taxes on it when you get disbursements. The 401(k) is intended for retirement, so there are also very heavy tax penalties if you withdraw any funds before you turn 59.5 years of age. If at all possible, do not make any early withdrawals from your retirement account, since most people have found that in addition to the heavy tax penalties for doing so, the prospect of paying it back, even with good intentions, is tougher than it seems.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Do More With Rapport?

by: Erik Luhrs

Ah, the good ole days. What happened to the days when you could open up your shop and be the only butcher, baker, repairman, etc in town?

The answer is “Progress.” Progress brought with it more things to do and make money at, but it also brought with a wave of non-stop competition.

In this new paradigm, uniqueness is no longer an option. Also, price, service and quality are barely helpful as marketing factors. Basically, everybody’s got the same everything.

So how do you differentiate yourself? How can you get new customers, keep old ones and – most of all – build positive word of mouth about you and your site?

The answer is simple: Build Rapport.

But what is “rapport,” and how do I build it?

Well, the Random House Dictionary defines rapport as “A harmonious or sympathetic relationship.”

For our purposes, rapport is creating a good relationship with your customers, so that they like you and trust you and do more business with you, and help drive more prospective customers to your facility.

RAPPORT MAKES THE WORLD GO AROUND

Perhaps you’re wondering just how important rapport really is.

Well, there is nothing – nothing – in your life or your world that is not in some way shape or form the result of rapport.

The car you drive was designed by people who established rapport, so they could work well together and create a car.

The food that you eat is made, packaged and shipped by a company made up of people who created rapport to make sure the operation of the company (creating your food) goes on like clockwork.

Even your own body is the result of rapport. If your parents didn’t have rapport – very good rapport – with one another, you wouldn’t be reading this right now.

As you can see, in both your personal and business lives, you need rapport to get what you want and need.

But remember - rapport is not a ‘sometimes’ thing. It is an ‘all the time’ thing. Every interaction that you have with another human being, no matter how slight, is a rapport-moment.

If you’re not conscious of yourself and your actions in your rapport-moments, you may create negative rapport with the other person.

So it is vitally important that you understand and command your rapport skills. After all, since you are creating rapport anyway you might as well create good rapport.

THE FOUR ASPECTS OF RAPPORT

There are four aspects of rapport: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional and Physical.

We, obviously, do not have the time to go into all four aspects in this article, so we will concentrate on the physical aspect and how you can use it in your daily business.

MIRRORING

In the study of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) there are two techniques that help people build positive rapport with others. These techniques are called “Mirroring” and “Matching.”

As you may have guessed, Mirroring is the act of being like a mirror and copying the movements of the other person.

You can copy everything about the person’s body; their posture, their hand and leg movements, their facial expression, even the timing of their blinking.

The key is to not be obvious when you mirror. If you purposely do everything they do at the moment they do it, they will notice and you will instantly create very bad rapport.

EXERCISE: next time you are sitting down and talking with someone, notice their body. Just allow yourself to notice at first.

After you feel comfortable with just noticing their body, then begin to put your body in the same posture as their’s. Don’t do it all at once. Do it one piece at a time.

Give yourself 20 seconds between movements until you are “mirroring” their posture.

Once you feel adept at mirroring static postures, then move on to mirroring actions.

Notice if the person touches their chin once in a while or if they stretch their back every so often or if they turn to scan the room every few minutes. Watch for any short-duration action they do as you two talk.

Give yourself 15 to 20 seconds after they are done and then you do the same movement. But be sure to be subtle about it. If the movement feels “wrong” to you then don’t force it or they will notice it.

As you get better at mirroring you can cut the time down from 20 seconds delay to 3 or 4 seconds of delay. Also, make sure to always remain subtle in your actions.

I’d recommend practicing these techniques with your family or staff before using it with customers. By the way, building great rapport can also have positive effects in your personal relationships and with your employees.

MATCHING

After you feel comfortable with Mirroring you can move on to Matching.

There are five factors in Matching: Modality, Voice, Breathing, Data Size, and Commonality.

MODALITY

In NLP the first step in the Matching process is matching the person’s “modality.”

We could spend a lot of time explaining the modalities here, but that would get us off track. So for a full understanding of the NLP modalities check out the book ‘The User’s Manual for the Brain,’ By Bob G. Bodenhamer and L. Michael Hall.

To make modality matching really simple, just try to match the other person’s energy-level. (i.e. Are they excited? Are they calm? Are they morose?)

VOICE

The next step in Matching is matching the other person’s voice. This consists of matching the volume at which they speak, the speed at which they speak, the tone in which they speak, and the quality of their voice.

You can also use some of their key words or catch phrases.

For example, if they like to say “excellent idea,” you can begin to throw that into your own statements as well.

As with Mirroring, Matching is all about subtlety. You’ll want to start slow and ramp up gradually so the other person doesn’t notice.

Make sure to watch the reactions of your partner as you do your voice matching. If you notice their face becoming confused or disturbed when you’re matching, it means your timing or style is off. So ease back and try again a little later.

BREATHING

The next Matching process is matching the other person’s breathing.

Simply focus on their breathing for a little while. Notice the speed at which they breath, and when they are breathing in and when they are breathing out. Also notice how long they pause between breaths and if they are breathing deep or shallow.

As you watch their breathing you should naturally begin to feel your body matching it. If not, give your body a little conscious help and soon you’ll be on the same breathing pattern as they are.

Remember, you are trying to mirror the other person subtly and smoothly. If, for some reason, the breathing pattern is not working well for you, and it’s not allowing you to relax and speak naturally, then go back to breathing normally.

DATA SIZE

The next step up in Matching is matching the other person’s data or thought size.

For example: If you are speaking to someone about the earth, and they like to talk about continents and how continents interact and how global weather patterns can affect multiple countries at once, then they are thinking about the “big picture” at that moment.

If you try to talk to them about how the villagers in a certain part of Peru make their living, you will be talking about a “small picture.” This will not fit well with your partner at all, because they are still thinking “big picture.”

So when you are first talking with your partner try to limit your own talking so that you can listen and gauge the size of their “picture,” then you can easily speak to them at the same level.

COMMONALITY

The final step in the Matching system is building commonality or finding “common ground” with the other person.

The easiest way to build commonality is to simply look for all the things you have in common and point them out.

Do you have common hobbies? Bird watching, knitting, cigar smoking, etc.

Do you have common interests? A political party, a religion, a football team, etc.

Do you have common experiences? Military veterans, the same summer camp as kids, the same college, etc.

Do you have common values? People shouldn’t smoke, honesty is a necessity, education should never end, etc.

All of these common factors can create common ground with the pother person, which will help to solidify your rapport with them.

INTEGRATING RAPPORT INTO YOUR LIFE AND BUSINESS

The easiest way to integrate rapport into your life naturally is to take one technique per week and just use that one technique when speaking with people. This will allow to focus on just that one technique, and you’ll be able to build skill through repetition.

Once you are able to quickly build rapport with your current and prospective customers, you will be able to find out more about them and their needs. You will be able to help them more, and they will actually “feel” good about you as a person, which will lead them to recommend you and your facility to more people.

The final caveat about rapport-building is that all your intentions must be in integrity. If you put forth good intentions in the hope of building trust, then all will be fine.

If you simply want to use rapport as a sales trick and have no real concern for the other person, then people will feel it and your business will suffer.

As the old saying goes, “with great power comes great responsibility,” so use your new skill well.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Do Data Recovery, Data Security, Data Backup The Right Way?

by: Jon Arnold

One of the most frightening things that can happen to a person is to lose the data off of their hard drive. Many of us store personal and business information on our computers. The thought of losing data due to a crashed or failed hard drive or perhaps a breach of data security sends chills down the spine of every grown man and woman. Once you except that you did not back up your data you need begin the data recovery process.

What exactly are your data recovery options once your hard drive crashes? First of all, stop using the computer immediately. It is not suggested that you run any data recovery software that came with your computer as this software can overwrite the original files. The next step is to allow a hard disk recovery company to restore your pertinent files. Contact a reputable company immediately. There are a few companies who come right to your home, but at-home data recovery computer services charge more. Certain computer files, such as DWG files (a complex graphics file format), require a specialist in order to be recovered. If there is damage to the hard drive you may not be able to recover your files. A hard drive crashing is an instance where data recovery is possible. If your data security is breached you may never recover what is stolen.

The best way to avoid compromised data security is to put safeguards in place. A few data security measures are encryption, antivirus and firewall protection. Data security such as encryption translates data into a secret code. To read an encrypted file you must have access to the key or password that enables you to decrypt it. There are many software programs and services that provide data encryption services depending on your data security needs. Additional data security measures such as antivirus and firewall protection provide further data protection. Some software programs have the ability to provide both antivirus and firewall protection for overall data security.

One way to avoid the mess of data recovery is to perform regular backups. Basic computer maintenance includes full and incremental backups. It is recommended that you perform a full backup once a week. An incremental backup is a backup that backs up only the files modified since the last backup and depending on your needs you can schedule this to run every day. It’s also beneficial if you have a copy of your data offsite. When you need to access this data you can either open the offsite data program and run it, or log on via the web to access your data. You will want to check with your service provider how to perform data recovery if needed.

Data recovery either from a crashed hard drive or lost through compromised data security can be a frustrating and devastating experience. The best situation is to avoid the loss of data all together. With regular computer backups and data security measures in place your computer data will remain where it needs to be, on your hard drive and easily accessible.

Some people balk at the cost of protecting their data, as well as the time involved in doing secure backups. But what they fail to consider is the cost of their lost personal and productivity time that is spent trying to recover data that could be recovered in literally MINUTES if they had properly safe-guarded the data in the first place! If your computer data files are the lifeblood of your business and/or personal life, the time and money involved in protecting that data adequately and properly cannot be determined by a dollar value.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Do Active Listening?

by: Robert Najemy

Active listening is another basic tool of effective communication. It is employed whenever the other has a problem. We want to listen carefully to what the other is trying to say. Here are some guidelines for doing this.

1) LOOK INTO OTHER'S EYES - This is especially important, as the eyes are the real channels of deeper communication. If the other is talking to us and we are looking at TV, the computer, newspaper, or out the window, at the ceiling, down toward the floor, he or she does not feel recognized, important or connected with us.

2) GIVE EVIDENCE OF INTEREST- We can nod occasionally, make facial movements that indicate that we are listening and understanding.

3) VERIFY IF YOU UNDERSTAND OR NOT- We can ask questions that enable us to clarify if we understand what the other is saying. This is also important for the other to realize that we are listening and interested.

4) NO ADVICE OR CRITICISM - We avoid giving advice, and in all cases, we do not criticize or judge. All the truths that the other needs are within. We are there to help the other come into contact with his or her own inner truth and wisdom. This is the greatest gift we can offer someone.

5) IMAGINE YOU ARE WHAT THE OTHER FEELS - NEEDS - Empathy is an important ability in such situations as it allows the other to feel understood and cared for, but also allows us to experience his or her inner reality and thus be guided to ask more astute and effective questions or make gestures that will more effectively help the other.

Here, however, it is important not to get lost with the other. If the other is drowning in a sea of emotions, we need two abilities. One is to get into the sea with him or her so we can touch them and bring them out. The other is to simultaneously be aware that:

a. This is a soul in an evolutionary process that is experiencing exactly what he or she needs to in order to develop on an inner level at this time. What he or she is going through is a "soul choice."

b. That this is an immortal divine being who has temporarily lost contact with its inner wisdom and guidance, and that the greatest gift we can offer is to help that being reconnect with the truth and power within.

6) BE GENUINE - NOT PHONY- It will not do to fake interest or feelings. The other will see through this. We need to be interested, but also to be ourselves.

7) ASK - QUESTIONS - There are two types of questions.

a. Questions we ask in order to clarify that we understand what we are hearing and also to verify to the other that we are interested and understand.

b. Questions we ask in order to enable the other to realize more clearly his or her feelings, needs, beliefs, perhaps past experiences that may be contributing to the problem, and, of course, solutions.

This is a technique used by psychologists and psychotherapists to facilitate an individual’s self-knowledge and transformation. It is also a technique used thousands of years ago by the philosopher Socrates to guide people to the truth within.

USE OF ACTIVE LISTENING

There are two situations where we use "Active Listening."

1. We need to close any «I-message» by the opening toward the other and giving him or her the opportunity to express his or her feelings, thoughts and needs concerning the matter we have presented. We now want to help the other to express his or her inner world so we can understand him or her more deeply and thus improve our relationship. This is an essential part of every «I-message» and also an essential part of communication.

2. We also employ active listening when the other person has a problem, feels unhappy or is dissatisfied with something. Here are two situations:

a. The first is when the other’s problem is not related to our behavior. In this case, rather than give advice, we can help the other much more efficiently by listening and asking questions that help him or her gain clarity and make their own decisions about possible solutions.

b. The second is when we are "their problem." In such a case, we often get caught up in an emotional merry-go-round and lose sight of the fact that they have the problem, not us. Our problem is that we do not like to be accused, criticized or made to feel guilty for what we may be doing that the other person is using to create unhappiness in him or herself. We often get lost in our hurt and defensiveness and begin the endless game of defending and counter-accusing, which leads to a complete break down in communication.

If we can remember at that moment that the other person has the problem and not identify with our personality that is being criticized or accused (imagine he or she is talking about someone else), we can respond with active listening, rather than excuses, self-defense and counter-accusations.

Through active listening, we can get a much clearer idea of what is really bothering the other person.

1. We may find he or she is right. We may find we were innocently unaware of how important something was to him or her.

2. By mutually exploring the problem in depth, the other person might realize it is his or her attachments and weaknesses that are causing the pain, not our behavior.

3. We may come to the realization that we have been so preoccupied with our own insecurities and needs that we have been truly inconsiderate of the other’s needs and may want to thank him or her for pointing this out, before making the appropriate change in our behavior.

In other words, through actively listening at the moment when the other person has the problem, there will be communication, not the usual «melodramatic court case.»

When we find ourselves with a person who is criticizing or accusing us, let us remember it is his or her problem. He or she is unhappy and disturbed about something that may or may not be our fault. Rather than feel hurt and defensive, let us listen as though he or she is talking about someone else and ask as many questions as we can to help both of us understand the real problem more clearly. Then let us discuss what might be some of the possible solutions, i.e., changes in our behavior, in the other's programming or both.

From the book "Relationships of Conscious Love"
by Robert Elias Najemy

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Do A Correct Health Insurance Comparison?

by: Joe Stewart

What exactly should you be looking for when comparing health insurance plans? Of course you will want to take note of how much the premiums are going to cost you. This is usually the first thing that most people look at. You'll also want to take a close look at what the health insurance plan that you're considering covers. Not all plans are created the same. Does it include hospital care? If so, up to how much? Does it include ambulatory care? If so, how much? Does it include prescription drugs? If not, why? Also, if it doesn't cover prescriptions, how much additional would it cost to have them included?

How much is the deductible? The deductible is the amount that you'll have to pay out of your own pocket each year before the insurance company will pick up the tab. An example of this would be, let's say that you took a fall and hurt your arm. You went to the doctor and he wanted to get some x-rays done to see if it was broken. After determining that it was, they placed you in a cast, gave you two prescriptions and sent you home. Three weeks later you get a bill from the doctor and the hospital. The total between the two bills is $1,400. In this case, if your deductible was less than $1,400 then you'd have to pay that amount and the insurance company would pay the rest. If your deductible was more than that amount you'd have to pay for it all yourself.

If you have been looking into getting a health insurance plan for yourself or your family, these are some of the questions that you'll need to be asking, along with many more. Do the proper research before signing anything and make certain that you're are very informed about the type of coverage that is included in your new health insurance plan.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Develop Your Information Marketing Strategy?

by: Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian

Information marketing - also called infopreneuring - is a method to take information you own, have licence to, or can have created for you, and then offer it to others for a profit or any other advantage.

If in the process you also enrich your audience, you have a mutually beneficial process in place - one which will help grow and build your value as an information marketing specialist.

To get maximum leverage from your information marketing efforts, you must have an integrated strategy that will guide all your efforts at promoting yourself as an infopreneur.

1. What is your 'product'?

Any information marketing strategy begins by knowing what you plan to offer. In other words, what is your product?

It might be a book you have written. Or an audio tape you have recorded. Or a DVD movie you shot of yourself doing something or teaching people what you know about a topic.

Or it may be more intangible, like your time on the telephone or in person, or your presence at a seminar or conference. Whatever format you choose to deliver your information becomes your 'product' - and your information marketing strategy will vary depending on that.

2. Who is your 'audience'?

Every information marketing system is targeted at a crowd of prospects. The bigger this crowd, the better. But for maximum impact, you need to know more about your audience.

Who or what is your perfect target market? It could be individuals, or groups, or corporations and businesses, or countries, organizations, even brands or ethnic groups.

Your information marketing strategy will be tailored to fit the specific needs, wants, desires, characteristics, preferences and tastes of this audience - and will get you massive results from your infopreneuring activities.

3. Where do they live or gather?

For targeting your information marketing efforts to get the biggest return on investment per dollar spent, you need to know where your market lives or gathers - so you can get your marketing message in front of them most effectively.

An ad for a Lexus sportscar would do badly in a soup kitchen. And a promotion for a golfing book would get very few sales in a nursery school. Yet most information marketing activities fail to specifically target their market - and not surprisingly fail.

4. What is your profit model?

Have you heard the phrase: "Build a better mousetrap and they'll beat a trail to your front door?"

Well, maybe they will - but unless you've figured out a way to sell that mousetrap at higher than your cost, or found another way to turn a profit, all that demand won't do you a bit of good.

As an information marketing strategist, you need to be clear on your profit model - and figure out your marketing budget or the amount you can afford to spend to attract new customers, without losing money or for maximum profits.

This barely scratches the surface of information marketing strategy. There are many more things to consider - and many nuances to master in these broad categories. And that is why it is critically important to keep learning, growing your knowledge base, and studying other material that teach you to be a better infopreneur.

Information marketing is a valuable skill to own in today's connected online world. Be a master infopreneur, and you can build massive wealth and gain financial freedom faster than ever before.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Develop Into A Better Tomorrow?

by: Mari Taylor

Personal development AKA personal growth comprises the development of the self. There is a solution.

In this article I will explain how to attract endless new distributors or customers to your business.

Most people don't realize that you can have the best product, company and compensation plan in the world, but it's all completely worthless unless you have an exciting, effective advertising and marketing program that will bring people to you on a silver platter.

The first two questions you must answer are, "Who is your target market?" and, "What locations do they frequent on the Internet?"

Once you can answer these two questions correctly, the next step toward attracting traffic to your website is to write an ad that will capture instant attention and create an enormous amount of interest from your target market. The ability of your ad to do this is one of the key ingredients in attracting the necessary traffic.

The second most important step is to place your ad in locations on the Internet where your target market frequently visits. This takes a tremendous amount of research. Don't worry-- if you're already feeling overwhelmed, remember that there is a solution!

After you have determined the locations where your target market visits, you must learn how to place your ads on those locations and do it repeatedly. This takes time that you should be using to communicate with your prospects and help your downline.

After you have secured the interest of your prospects through advertising, the next step is to send them to a capture page or power ad, not your website. A capture page or power ad should be very professional and create further interest in the opportunity, product or service that you have advertised. A professional capture page or power ad is free of clutter and creates interest in only one thing. A key element for a successful capture page or power ad is to give away something free (e.g., an e-book-- something pertaining to what you are marketing) and thus "capture" the first name and email address of your prospects. We have had the most success with generic capture pages or power ads.

Sometimes it takes 7 contacts with a prospect before they take action.

Therefore, having an auto-responder with a series of 7 emails ready to send to your prospects over a ten-day period is essential-- all designed to get your prospects to your website. Each email should outline a definite plan of action for the prospect and why they should take that action. If you are not experienced in this area, you would benefit by having someone with Internet marketing experience write the email series for you, to insure your success.

When you conduct an email campaign using leads, you should send them to a landing page or power ad, not a capture page, because you already have their name and email address. You should still offer something FREE, however, to attract your leads toward that landing page or power ad. The landing page or power ad should be similar to the capture page, except the capture page will also be asking for ( i.e., capturing) the prospect's name and email address through the free offer. After your leads visit your landing page or power ad, you can then send them directly to your website.

If your prospect visits your website but does not purchase or get involved, keep them on your mailing list (unless they opt-out) because their circumstances may change. In three or four months they may get involved or purchase your product or service, as a result of your continued communications.

A good way to stay in touch with your target audience is through a monthly newsletter. You can develop one yourself or use a generic newsletter.

You can accomplish everything we have described in this article yourself, but it will require specific, quality skills to be successful. You'll need marketing-writing skills to create successful ads and email letters, graphic and marketing-writing skills for developing your capture and landing pages, market-research skills to find out the best places to put your ads, an auto-responder to automatically send out your emails, and the knowledge of how to operate your auto-responder. These tasks also take a lot of time and effort.

It will also take a lot of patience and attention to continually experiment with different strategies, until you develop a marketing plan that will attract massive amounts of traffic to your website.

There is an easy solution, however. You can instantly have an entire experienced advertising team on your staff when you partner with AdSurfDaily, Inc. ASD's Attract Marketing System incorporates all of the above features and is guaranteed to drive an endless stream of new distributors and buyers to your site!

Click Here http://www.homebusiness-instantprofits.com to download a FREE Report titled “Discover How to Drive Massive Traffic to Your Website” and discover how you can advertise you web site FREE to thousands of Hot Prospects.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Determine Which Cell Service Is Best For You?

by: Jon Arnold

With every cell phone carrier advertising their latest cell phones and super plans, it gets more and more difficult to determine which one is the right one for you. How do you know? If you live in a major metro area or almost any larger city, the plans, service and coverage are going to be pretty much the same. But if your intended usage is outside the major metro areas or you will be using your cell phone all over the place because you plan to travel a lot with it, then this is where the rubber meets the road and the RIGHT plan takes significantly more scrutiny.

Before going any further, it is important to note that you need to define what you plan to do with your cell phone. Now with that said, throw that note away. What you really need to determine is what ARE you going to be using it for, and what capabilities and functionality do you REQUIRE (not just merely “want” or find somewhat cool or desirable) with your cell phone and cellular service? If you don’t define this BEFORE you start shopping, it is almost inevitable that you are going to be spending more than you need to, perhaps to a significant degree.

The first thing to note is where you will be using your cell service the majority of the time. Find out what carriers have the best coverage in your area. Again, this is critical. For example, if you save $10 per month but the carrier’s coverage in your area is marginal, how useful is your cell service if you drop one out of 3 calls, and the other calls make you sound like you are calling from the bottom of a bathtub?

Regarding the actual cell phone, unless you are just dying for a particular model phone (and you should not be), choose the cell carrier before you choose which phone you need. There are very few cell phones that have features that are particular to only one carrier.

Standard equipment would be a decent battery life giving you about 3 hours of talk time. The built-in cameras take pictures of a quality that is merely “ok” and will not win any awards, and you will likely use that feature minimally if at all after the novelty wears off. The ability to be an MP3 player? Bag it – it will drain your battery faster and does not deliver the quality of an MP3 player that was actually DESIGNED to be an MP3 player. It provides 10-15 seconds of full motion video? Yawn. You won’t use it after the novelty wears off, but you WILL be paying for that functionality. It has a built in PDA with organizer functions? It will kill your battery life.

Bottom line on the cell phone itself: let the cell phone function as a cell phone, and don’t try to force it into performing functions that it was not designed to do, because that will only drive up the price, and it will not do any of those things as well as a device that was designed to do them.

Let’s say you have narrowed your carrier choices down to 2, maybe 3. Now let’s look at the plans. Who will you be calling mostly? T-Mobile has plans that allow you to select 5 people that you call most frequently and gives you unlimited minutes to call them. Sprint and Verizon usually allow you to call other cell customers of theirs on an unlimited basis. What about nights and weekends? Most carriers provide unlimited nights and weekends. Note that despite the position of the sun in the sky, “night” doesn’t start until 9:00pm, or with Sprint and an extra $5 per month, “night” can begin at 7:00pm.

How many “anytime” minutes do you need? Be generous here, because you could be paying as much as 30 cents per minute or more as soon as you go over your allotted anytime minutes. Yes, every time you call your voicemail from your cell phone, that goes against your anytime minutes.

Finally, your best bet is to buy online. In this age of “immediate satisfaction”, your desire is to waltz into the cellular carrier’s retail store, and walk out of there talking on your shiny new cell phone. Don’t do it. Go into the retail store to get a hands-on view of the phones you are considering, but with the spotlights, the shiny chrome cases, and a sales rep smiling like he’s auditioning for Jaws, avoid the temptation. You can always find at least an EQUIVALENT deal online, and very frequently the online resource will also throw in some extras like a carrying case, a car power adapter, a travel adapter, and a hands-free kit, which would cost nearly another $100 if you get it at the carrier’s retail outlet.

Bottom line: define what you want and be smart about it. A cell phone can be a great thing, but you need to feel good about having done the proper research to get a great deal on it.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Determine The Fear Of Your Customers?

by: Matt Bacak

You know the power and importance of knowing the fear that plagues your customers. But do you know how to determine this fear? Should you just guess? Should you use your own fears as a guideline? No. Guessing and using your own fears will not adequately serve your customers and in fact could hurt your bottom line.

So how should I figure out the fear of my customers? Should I just ask them? Wouldn’t that be the easiest and most direct way to find out this information? No. Common sense says that people will be open and tell you exactly what ails them. Unfortunately, people probably won’t tell you their real fears for a variety of reasons. They may be embarrassed and not want to admit their fears. For example, they may be embarrassed by their weight and not want to admit that they fear they will die soon from being overweight. Plus, some people are simply shy and/or don’t feel comfortable discussing problems with anyone, but their family.

Another reason you probably won’t be able to determine their true fears is because people don’t always know their fears. This means that some of their fears are on the unconscious level, so they have no idea that they fear something.

So instead of asking people to name their fears, you should present the following five questions:

1.) What is your biggest challenge with (insert topics such as “business”, “diet”, etc. It depends on your product, services, and customers.)

2.) How come the answer to question #1 is your biggest challenge?

3.) What is the worst thing that could happen if you don’t meet that challenge?

4.) If that (your answer from question #3) were to happen, what could that end up costing you? (Make sure to get a number for an answer.)

5.) What would it be worth to you to make sure that (answers to question #3 and question #4) doesn’t happen?

Here’s an example of answers:

The problem was that an individual had trouble following through. He felt like his daughter required too much of his time. The worst thing that could happen was that he would miss out on sales. It would end up costing him millions of dollars in losses. It would be worth millions of dollars to overcome this challenge.

So as a business you can create a product or service that helps this individual learn how to follow through so he can earn millions of dollars. This is a simple example, but demonstrates how to determine the fear of your customers.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Determine The Origin Of Spam?

by: Julia Gulevich

Spam will continue spreading as far as it makes profit. If nobody buys from spammers or acts upon their scams, spam will end. This is the obvious and easiest way to fight spam. You can ignore and delete spam emails you receive. But you can also take vengeance on the spammer by complaining to the spammer's Internet Service Provider (ISP). The ISP will block their connection and maybe impose a fine (depending on the ISP's acceptable usage policy). Spammers beware of such complaints and try to disguise their messages. That's why finding the right ISP is not always easy.

Let’s look inside a spam message. Every email message includes two parts, the body and the header. The body is the actual message text and attachments. The header is a kind of the envelope of the message. The header shows the address of the message sender, the address of the message recipient, the message subject and other information. Email programs usually display these header fields:

From: shows the sender's name and email address.
To: shows the recipient's name and email address.
Date: shows the date when the message was sent.
Subject: shows the message subject.

The From: field usually contains the sender's email address. This lets you know who sent the message and allows you easily reply. Spammers, of course, don’t want you to reply and don’t want you to know who they are. Therefore, they put forged email addresses into the From: lines of their emails. So the From: field won’t help you if you want to determine where the spam email comes from.

Tip! With G-Lock SpamCombat you can easily preview not only the message text but also all the fields of the message header . You can choose the preview format by yourself. You can view the message as HTML, decoded message, or message source. There are also several Received: fields in the header of every message. Email programs don’t usually display the Received: lines but the Received: lines can be very helpful in tracing the spam origin.

Just like a postal letter goes through a number of post offices before it’s delivered to the recipient, an email message is processed by several mail servers. Each mail server adds a line to the message header – a Received: line – which contains

- the server name and IP address of the machine the server received the message from and
- the name of the mail server itself.

Each Received: line is inserted at the top of the message header. If we want to reproduce the message’s path from sender to recipient, we start from the topmost Received: line and walk down until the last one, which is where the email originated.

Just like the From: field the Received: lines may contain forged information to fool those who would want to trace the spammer. Because every mail server inserts the Received: line at the top of the header, we start the analysis from the top.

The Received: lines forged by spammers usually look like normal Received: fields. We can hardly tell whether the Received: line is forged or not at first sight. We should analyze all the Received: lines chain to find out a forged Received: field.

As we mentioned above, every mail server registers not only its name but also the IP address of the machine it got the message from. We simply need to look what name a server puts and what the next server in the chain says. If the servers don’t match, the earlier Received: line is forged.

The origin of the email is what the server immediately after the forged Received: line says about where it received the message from.

Let's see how determining of the spam email origin works in real life. Here is the header of a spam message we’ve recently received:

**************************************************
Return-Path:
Delivered-To: press@mydomain.com
Received: from unknown (HELO 60.17.139.96) (221.200.13.158) by mail1.myserver.xx with
SMTP; 7 Nov 2006 10:54:16 -0000
Received: from 164.145.240.209 by 60.17.139.96; Tue, 07 Nov 2006 05:53:35 -0500
Date: Tue, 07 Nov 2006 12:48:35 +0200
From: Pharmacy

Reply-To: umceqhzjmndfy
X-Priority: 3 (Normal)
Message-ID:
To: press@mydomain.com
Subject: Cheap Med*s V!agra Many Med_s QnNXpRy9
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
**************************************************

At first, look at the forged From: field. The email address in the From: and Reply-To: lines doesn’t exist. So, the spammer took care about directing bounced messages and all the indignant replies people may send to a non-existing email account.

Secondly, the Subject: line. It contains the variations of the “Meds” and “Viagra” words that are known to be met in spam messages. Plus, the subject contains a range of random characters. It’s obvious that the subject line is skillfully tailored to fool anti-spam filters.

Lastly, let’s analyze the Received: lines. We start from the oldest one - Received: from 164.145.240.209 by 60.17.139.96; Tue, 07 Nov 2006 05:53:35 -0500. There are two IP addresses in it: 60.17.139.96 says it received the message from 164.145.240.209.

We check if the next (and last in this case) mail server in the chain confirms the state of the first Received: line. In the second Received: field we have: Received: from unknown (HELO 60.17.139.96) (221.200.13.158) by mail1.myserver.xx with SMTP; 7 Nov 2006 10:54:16 -0000.

mail1.myserver.xx is our server and we can trust it. It received the message from an "unknown" host, which says it has the IP address 60.17.139.96. Yes, this confirms what the previous Received: line says.

Now let’s find out where our mail server got the message from. For this purpose, we look at the IP address in brackets before the server name mail1.myserver.xx. It is 221.200.13.15. This is the IP address the connection was established from, and it is not 60.17.139.96. The spam message originates from 221.200.13.15. It’s important to note that it’s not necessarily that the spammer is sitting at the computer 221.200.13.15 and sending spam over the world. It may happen the computer’s owner doesn’t even suspect of being sending spam. The computer may be hijacked by a Trojan, which is spreading spam without the machine’s owner knowing it.

We hope this information will help you identify the spammer's ISP and report them about spam so they can take proper measures.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Design The Perfect Affiliate Marketing Website?

by: Anita Buchan

It's widely accepted that to become a successful affiliate marketer, you need a website. If there's one thing the gurus all agree in, it's that to make serious money you need to have your own presence on the web.

Which is fine. To be an affiliate marketer, you need a website. Simple enough, right?

Well, not really. Because anybody with a basic knowledge of the internet, or even just the ability to follow instructions, can build a website. But only a few people ever become successful affiliate marketers.

And it's normally easy to see why – when you visit the websites most people create.

The first thing to do is scrap any website you've received free as part of an affiliate marketing program. It might be the easy option, but it's the easy option being used by everyone else who's bought that program. Nobody ever got rich being exactly the same as several hundred other people. Free websites are obvious – to build sales, you need a website you've created yourself.

First, you need to decide what contact to include. Get out a piece of paper, and draw a quick site map. You're going to need a start page, introducing yourself and the site. To make your site more than a collection of affiliate links, you're going to need some content. If you don't want to write it yourself, use article directories to find relevant articles you can use. This is important: sites without content aren't accepted into directories, aren't ranked highly by search engines, and don't attract repeat visitors.

And you'll need the tools of any affiliate marketer: affiliate links, an autoresponder form for collection e-mail addresses, and sales pitch for the products you're promoting.

Unless you're good at web design, get a free website template from somewhere. Google them. Choose one that looks professional, clean, neat, and easy to navigate. Try to choose it from a site that has a forum for asking help in, especially if you have little experience of HTML. It's also worth searching for a quick, free course in HTML. You're going to need some basic knowledge.

Your next task is to upload the content onto the site. The template will probably have spaces marked where you need to copy and paste text, or write in your own links. Another important thing to think about is images. Try searching a free image site for something relevant if you don't have any pictures of your own.

One important thing to consider is the placing of your affiliate links. You might want to devote a separate page to each product. You might also want to have a side-bar in which you link to and give brief descriptions of some of your best selling products. This is a good way of finding out what sales copy works and what doesn't: pay attention to which links achieve the most clicks.

Of course, it's important to remember that you are trying to make money. But, at the same time, remember that visitors don't want to constantly feel like you're trying to sell them something. If your site has genuine content that they find helpful, they're more likely to come to trust you – and therefore more likely to follow your recommendations in future.

Another important thing to remember is to make your site search engine friendly. This is gone into in much more detail elsewhere by people more knowledgeable than I; just remember to use meta tags. Also make sure that the first paragraph on your main page contains important key words, as many search engines pay attention to this.

You should also consider having a page of links. This is important for link exchanges, which raise your search engine ranking and gain you some free traffic.

Finally, you need to make sure your website contains contact information – not just for those who have a question about the products you are advertising, but also in case there is a problem with the site.

One of the best ways to get an idea of what your website should be like is to visit the websites of other affiliate marketers. You will see they can be quite different in style, depending on how that person chooses to market their product.

In the end, the most important thing to remember is that your website needs to be more that a collection of affiliate links – and if you cannot see why, you will probably never become a successful affiliate marketer.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Design an Age? - Appropriate Room for Your Child

by: Melanie Desautels

How to Design an Age-Appropriate Room for Your Child

Designing an age-appropriate room can be a daunting task, especially when children change and develop so quickly. One of the best things that a parent can do is remember to be flexible and understand your child. Choose a color palette that will be easy to work with changing furniture and changing favorites. Understanding how a child develops is key to creating a bedroom that is age-appropriate. So we will discuss different stages and what you can do to create an age-appropriate room in each stage of development.

Birth to One Year

This is a stage of extremely fast growth and development. When you look at a newborn it is amazing that in less than a year, most will be walking, crawling, sitting, saying a few words, and feeding themselves. Having interesting objects to look at and reach for are important for babies. Babies will also enjoy a mirror; as an added bonus most children enjoy playing with mirrors up through age 8 or 9 so feel free to pick one that is a little more expensive because you know it will be around for a while. At this stage it is also important to have plenty of safe floor space. They will spend most of their time on the floor rolling and sitting and playing with toys.

One to Three Years

Children in this stage are learning how to dress themselves, and love to imitate their parents and older siblings, so make believe games of house are common. Encourage your children's make believe games by providing them with a few simple props; a toddler chair, a small table or desk and perhaps a few plastic dishes will provide hours of fun. They are also learning motor skills like jumping, skipping, and hopping, so again a lot of floor space is necessary. Another way to help children at this stage is to get a closet organizer that allows you to hang the child's clothes at their level. Learning how to get dressed on their own is an important life skill during this stage and it is much more likely that they will develop this skill if they can reach their clothes. Children at this age also love to draw and display their creations. You can easily turn a closet door into a chalkboard using chalkboard paint. Or you can set up a child chair and desk for them to use. You may want to consider covering the desk with laminating paper you can get at the craft store, that way if they get crayon or pencil on it you can just remove the paper and recover it. A magnet board is a great place for kids to display their creations and it is most likely something that the child will use for many years as they move from displaying their artwork to using it for keeping information for school.

Four to Six Years

During this time children learn how to talk. Provide them with plenty of books. This will encourage good speech development and will help them understand order of events. Children also go from side by side play to interactive play. Children at this age will still love drawing and art but you may need to upgrade to a larger table and chairs. Children love toys with lots of parts at this age such as legos and dolls with clothes. Provide them with plenty of space to store their toys. Make sure they are where they can be reached. You may also be tempted at this stage to put a TV or computer in your child's bedroom so you don't have to watch a favorite movie over and over with the child, but most experts greatly discourage this saying that it discourages interactive play and are activities that should be monitored closely.

Seven to Ten Years

Children at these ages develop definite likes and dislikes. Take cues from your child and set up a room that allows them to pursue what they like. Another tip is to give the child a place to display important items. Children at this stage like to be surrounded by favorite things.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Design A Web Page That Pays?

by: Cliff Posey Jr

It is relatively easy to design a web page. It is much more difficult to design a web page that works, and more importantly a web page that pays off for either you or the web visitor. But if you want to create web sites or have a home based business that you can promote online, building a web page that pays is an absolute necessity.

So, how do you design a web page that pays? First off, you need to determine who will be getting the pay-off. It could be you or the web visitor, or better yet, it could be both of you. For example, an informational web page will be valuable to a reader looking for information and valuable to you if you have affiliates, links to products, or other sites you want to promote.

When building a web page or looking for a home based business, affiliate programs are worth considering because they add value to the site for the reader and can provide enough revenue for you to keep the site going. The best affiliates offer products that are in some way related to your site. In other words, if you have an informational web site relating to pet health, it wouldn't be a good idea to have affiliate links for tax software. You will be much better served with affiliates that sell pet vitamins, pet toys, or other pet related products.

If you want to create web sites or design a web page so that you can make money from affiliate programs, it is a good idea to research affiliates and the topic before you proceed. Making sure that affiliate programs exist in conjunction with the information you want to provide or the home based business you want to promote will prove to be very valuable later on as you try to get the site off the ground.

You will also want to make sure that you will be able to provide credible information to the site's visitors. For example, you will have a hard time building a web page devoted to coaching soccer if you know little about the subject. And without credibility, you stand little chance of getting site visitors to stop by once, let alone, again and again.

Credibility will also prove to be important when you look for affiliates. Often times, your site will need to be reviewed before you are allowed to participate in the affiliate program. If you design a web page that is not up to par, you will have little chance of being approved.

In short, take your time and do your homework. That is the only way to create web sites that truly pay off for you and your visitors.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Deliver The Perfect Wedding Speech?

by: Vicki Churchill

Hundreds of people, bright lights, microphones and uncomfortable clothing, not the ideal setting to stand up and start talking, particularly at the moment where you are probably nervous, sweating, dry mouthed and your stomach feels like its doing somersaults!

You will be pleased to know there are ways to combat your fears and settle your nerves.

The first thing to remember is who your audience is. They will be your friends and family not a jeering bunch of hecklers. They do not want to see you fall short but if you do they will be sympathetic.

Secondly remember to breathe, take deep and slow breathes. Do not rush your words.

Try stretching out your fingers and toes. Sounds silly but it really does work!.

Some people say eating a banana before the speech can help with anxiety and at the same time give you energy.

Do not drink! One alcoholic drink is fine to calm your nerves but then stick to water. There is nothing more cringe worthy than a wedding speech delivered by a slurring drunkard.

Be yourself, nobody is perfect and your audience will not expect you to be.

If you become emotional do not worry just take a moment to compose yourself and remember if you are getting choked you probably won't be the only one.

Imagine you are talking to someone at the end of the room and project your voice accordingly. Remember to make eye contact with your audience as they will soon tire and become distracted if you deliver your speech head down reading from a script.

The wedding speech order Bearing in mind cultural diversities there are three main speeches given at the reception. They are the father of the bride speech, the bridegrooms and the best mans. Occasionally the maid of honor or a good friend of the bride will also give a wedding speech.

By tradition the father of the bride would be called upon, firstly to toast the grooms parents and then raise a toast to the bride and groom. This is a good way to open because it is easy to remember and involves the audience from the outset. This allows them to acknowledge the bride and groom and at the same time give you a few precious seconds to overcome any early nerves or wobbly knees. The father of the bride would then welcome the groom to his family and finally end his wedding speech by saying a few loving words about his daughter.

The bridegroom would then respond by thanking his parents for his upbringing and the parents of the bride for raising such a beautiful daughter. He would then take the opportunity on behalf of his wife and himself to thank the guests for attending and for the gifts received.

The best mans wedding speech is probably the toughest to get right as this speech is expected to be light hearted and fun as well as sincere. A joke or two in good taste will keep the listeners captivated plus hearing your audience laugh will be a tonic for your nerves in addition to raising your confidence! Other duties include a toast to the bridesmaids and to present them with gifts on behalf of the bride and groom in appreciation. He should also read a few (not too many) of the guest wedding cards. To end his speech he should wish the bride and groom success, health and happiness in the years to come.

Above all enjoy giving your wedding speech, have fun and see it as an opportunity to tell your nearest and dearest your heartfelt feelings.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Deep Clean Carpets?

by: David Marquardt

Maintenance of a carpet is not one of the easiest jobs and it takes time and effort to keep your carpet in good condition. Most people use vacuum cleaners for carpet cleaning but this is not enough; your carpets also need some deep cleaning. The truth is that a carpet is easily prone to contaminants and pollutants. Your dog may walk in wagging his tail and shed some of his lovely hair on the carpet. A storm may bring in a few more surprises in the form of dust and allergens. To top it all, there is always the fear of spilling liquid or food, which may cause deep stains. All this translates to one thing: deep carpet cleaning.

It is advisable to deep clean carpets at least once in 12 or 18 months. This will not only remove the dust and the dirt but also the deep stains. As a result of deep carpet cleaning, the life span of your carpet will increase and it will also look as good as new. Deep cleaning of carpets will reduce the wear and tear and keep its colors bright. The question is how best you can deep clean your carpets?

Deep cleaning of carpets is not something that you can do at home always. This kind of carpet cleaning requires professional help. When you buy a new carpet, you will find a manufacturer note that states that the best cleaning process for all carpets is deep cleaning. It is important that you follow the instructions provided by the carpet manufacturer. You can try deep carpet cleaning at home too but for that you will require a carpet shampoo. There are different types of shampoos available in the market that can be used for specific carpets like woolen or silk carpets.

You should avoid using soap and household detergents for deep carpet cleaning as they can severely damage your carpet. To get the best results, start by vacuuming your carpet completely and then apply a pre-conditioning solution. The pre-conditioning solution is a form of mild detergents, which will help the soil on the carpet to loosen before you can start the actual deep cleaning process. Alternatively, you can also hire a carpet cleaning professional to do the job.

You can search over the internet for firm in your area that employ different deep carpet cleaning processes. The best way to find a professional is through references. Ask for references from your friends, neighbors, colleagues and family. While speaking to different professional carpet cleaners, make sure that you discuss the use of the five different methods of deep cleaning. Take their advice as they know which method will be best suited for your carpet. The five methods of carpet cleaning are:

Dry extraction: In this method professionals use an absorbent that contains special solvents and detergents. This absorbent is infused in to the carpet using special machines. The absorbent acts like a magnet and attract all the dirt, dust particles and soil from the carpet fibers. Once that happens then the carpet can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner. This process works well for sturdy carpets.

Dry foam extraction: In this method, the professional will apply a detergent solution, which will create foam. The foam will then be applied to your carpet. The foam will attract all the dirt and the other pollutants, which can be removed later on using a vacuum cleaner. This process of carpet cleaning will work well for woolen carpets.

Hot water extraction: This is also known as steam cleaning and you can do it at home. First you will have to precondition the soiled areas of the carpet and then use a specially designed hot water extraction machine to infuse the cleaning solution into the carpet. This will help in loosening and removing of the soil.

Rotary shampoo: This is one of the classic carpet cleaning methods. It is done by professionals who use a machine that has rotary brushes. With the help of the brushes, cleaning solution is injected into the carpet, which helps in removing loose soil.

Absorbent pad: This is the last of the carpet cleaning methods and should not be done at home. A specially designed machine is used for removing the soil. The machine has absorbent spin pads, which can absorb the soil from your carpet.

At the end, it is always advised to refer to the instructions mentioned by the carpet manufacturer to help you choose the right deep cleaning method for your carpet.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Decorate Your New Home?

by: Lee Dobbins

You are really excited because you are moving into a new home and although it is structurally sound the interior decorating is not quite to your taste. Sometimes when people sell their homes they do a good job of presentation but when they have moved out and the furniture is gone then the cracks begin to show. The lighting may have obscured the fact that the ceiling is dingy and the curtains may have hidden the peeling paint on the window frames. Whatever the situation it is usually the case that most people get involved to some extent in new home decorating.

You bought the house because you liked the general scheme of things but now you have decided that the avocado bathroom suite really isn’t to your taste. You have a couple of options here, you can get hold of a couple of cans of special bathroom paint and cover it up so that all you need to replace is the toilet. On the other hand you might decide that white bathroom suites are a must for you and a complete change is called for. If this is the case then it is a good idea to go to a specialist bathroom outlet or one of the discount do it yourself outlets. If you do some rudimentary research and look around you may find that you can get a new bathroom suite quite cheaply – then you are left with the problem of installing it.

Unless you are used to a mix of plumbing and electric and unless you have a kind relative or friend who is in the trade then you will probably have to have a professional in to install it. New showers are a particular problem for beginning do-it-yourself enthusiasts and really require professional expertise.

If the bathroom suite is ok then perhaps the smallest room in the house would benefit from a coat of paint or maybe some new tiles. Even a new blind would brighten a tired bathroom.

If the kitchen is the bug bear in your new home then try updating the cabinets, either with new doors or just a coat of paint. Paint the walls if they really need it but don’t go for bright colors – they soon look tired. Neutral is best, then add color with blinds and accessories

Before you make any decisions take a good look around your new home. Decorating may not be the answer. Unless there are things that you feel you feel you really can’t live with then try using different furniture arrangements and swapping curtains i.e. living room to bedroom etc. Get some potted plants if you don’t have them because they brighten any room.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Decide What Used Car To Buy?

by: Louis Rix

The majority of people who wish to buy a used car have a clear picture in their mind of the type of car that they want, or at the very least some idea of whether they want a saloon or a hatchback. However by the time they have visited the showroom they can leave the forecourt driving away something very different from what they envisaged.

The reason behind this could be the salesman persuading you away from what you know is the right choice or you simply buy on impulse only to realise your mistake later. Here are some practical tips to help ensure you don’t make a big mistake when it comes to purchasing your car.

The first thing you should take into account is the size of the car; factors to take into consideration here are the size of your garage or drive and whether or not you have a family. If you have a family then purchasing a small two seated model is probably not the right choice. The same applies if you have limited space as then you aren’t going to be able to fit a big car into it.

The size is also determined by the build you are, for example if you are a tall person then you will have to ensure that you have adequate room, you don’t want to have to open the sunroof and stick out your head in order to see where you are going.

Take into account what it is that you need the car for. Are you going to be towing a caravan or attaching a trailer to it on a regular basis? If you are then you should consider a car with a bigger engine such as a four wheel drive. If you only want something to run about in the city then your choice might be better suited to a smaller hatchback model. The car you choose should fit in with your lifestyle.

Another important factor that you should always take into account when considering the type of car is how much it will cost to insure. The size, make and model of the car are all factors that are taken into consideration when it comes to determining the quote for your premium for the car insurance.

Finally, you have the choice of going for a petrol or diesel model; there are many advantages to choosing a diesel model rather than petrol. The diesel engine is considered to be more reliable and the fuel is more economical. However there are bad points too and these include the engine of the car being worked harder which means a major overhaul. Cars that run on diesel are also often overpriced and they aren’t considered to be environmentally friendly when compared to petrol engines.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Decide Any Directory As A Quality Directory?

by: Manish Mathukiya

Directories are best way to get one way links. Especially for new sites.

There are hundreds of directories but there are also a lot of directories out there where submission is worthless. Avoid your site from submitting spammy directories to stay away from devaluation of your site in search engines. There are certain factors that when combines makes a directory a quality directory. Here are fewer…

[1] Age of directory/Domain:-

It is said that Google give more weight or consider those directories as trusted directories which are older. So if your site is linked from older directories it will help you in ranking better in SERPs.

[2] Page Rank and incoming links:-

Page rank on Google toolbar and incoming links for other search engines. Especially when unique IP links that point to directory It has better value than if it has No. of back links from one IP. Also quality of those links is important. Page rank should consider for both for home page and from sub page which link to you,

[3] Cost:-

If it is paid directory than you must consider cost. It is not advisable to pay for $$ for 0 PR Directory. Also consider that for what are you paying? Is it cost for one year or for lifetime listings?

[4] No. of links/Category and No. of categories:-

It is not recommended to submit site which has no of links (say hundreds)/category.

It will not help you to get a boost in search engines. If directory having enough and all major category available, it will create relevant results.

[5] No. of page indexed in search engines and SE Rankings:-

Suppose any directory is banned by Google than it is worthless to submit there. (Why you are submitting to directories?) Search engine rankings and No. of pages indexed by search engines may decide how quality back link it will give to your site.

[6] Traffic:-

Generally directories are for search engine ranking but if it can provide you a little traffic it is better deal.

[7] Type of links:-

Before you submit you can check weather directory is SEO friendly or not. What type of URL it has. Directories that can not provide you direct HTML Links may be worthless to submit.

[8] Category of directory:-

Niche directories are better for getting more relevant links. Example, if your site is related to real estate than you can submit to specific real estate top directories.

[9] Time for review:-

Most of paid directories review any listing within 24 hours. You can expect faster review time when you are paying.

[10] Other factors:-

Like weather directory allow anchor text or not, content of directory (linking from duplicate may adversely affect), No of Scrap listings or quality of outbound links, No. of dead links, editors and quality of editing, type of sites accepted by directory, Submission process, should not be loaded heavily with banners and ads.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Deal With Discrimination At Work?

by: Kelly Hunter

Just what is discrimination and what when can it go too far within the workplace? Discrimination at work is a big topic and one that many employers are well aware of. By law they are required to show anti- discrimination posters/ pamphlets in a ‘prominent’ location. Discrimination at work occurs every day and it is up to both employers and employees to lower the chances of it happening in their workplace.

Discrimination typically falls under one of three categories- racial (direct or indirect), sexual and victimization. Let’s take a closer look:

Racial discrimination is the biggest of the three and even though there are laws against it, it still happens frequently. An instance can be deemed directly racially discriminating if the person in question is being treated less then other people in similar circumstances. Racial comments and racial harassing also falls under this direct definition. Indirect racial discrimination deals mostly with rules that are discriminatory by nature. For instance, if a Jewish man is at a workplace that doesn’t allow headgear they can be deemed indirectly discriminated against because their religion requires headgear to be worn during certain parts of the year.

Sexual discrimination is the second biggest type of workplace discrimination and it deals mostly with vulgar language and inappropriate behaviors. If a woman or a man has to deal with constant sexual comments or inappropriate touching or rubbing they are deemed sexually discriminated against and they can file charges. Also falling under this category are those employers who either don’t hire or don’t treat woman the same as men, such as giving promotions or accepting applications. An employer has to treat men and women both in all aspects in the workplace.

Victimization happens quite a bit as well. Victimization constitutes as discrimination at work under the Race Relations Act. This happens when an individual is treated lesser because they have supported someone who complained about racial discrimination. For instance, if a co-worker complained about being racially discriminated against and their co-worker sticks up for them and therefore suffers victimization.

Workplace discrimination should be reported immediately and the longer it goes on the worse the situation tends to be. Individuals should learn their rights when it comes to discrimination so that they don’t have to suffer any longer. It’s advised to ask someone within the union or workplace that you trust to tell you the rules or to give you the proper materials.

Sometimes workplace discrimination is pretty obvious while other times it is much more subtle. Either way, if all individuals know their specific rights regarding the issue they will be able to fight it properly.

Here are a few of the laws that protect those who are discriminated against:

* The Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII)
* The Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA)
* The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967
* The Disabilities Act of 1990
* The Civil Rights Act of 1991
* The Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Deal With Credit Card Offers?

by: Mario Churchill

In this day and age, plastic rules, not just because of convenience and safety features but also because of the opportunities for rewards and rebates that many competitive credit card companies offer. You no longer have to look too hard for credit card offers because they will find you. The only question is how to pick one that will give you the best deal. If this is your current dilemma, here are some simple tips to help you narrow down your choice:

Never go random.

When there are so many credit card offers out there that seem to offer the same things, it can be tempting to just sign up for whatever card comes along. This is not a good way of taking advantage of credit card offers. Never pick a credit card based some random advertisement, a recommendation, pressure from the credit card company or a purchase emergency.

Consider what you'll use it for.

While a credit card can give you a semblance of financial freedom, it is still a form of debt, that's why it's called a credit card. Before you decide on a credit card offer, think about what you'll need to use it for and how often you think you'll be using it.

Say for example you're the type who likes to frequent a certain establishment and usually use credit for your purchases, you might want to consider a credit card from that store if they're offering one. That credit card will often carry with it a lot of great discounts, rewards, cash rebates and special privileges when used with that establishment.

Look for range.

Generally, the more locations you can use your credit card with, the better, so you might want to choose a credit card that can be used both nationally or internationally. If you don’t see yourself leaving your locality for a long time, regional credit cards will work well for you.

Go for low interest rates.

When you're finding the best card among your credit card offers, look for one that has the low interest rates. Rates vary depending on the credit card company and sometimes, on the card itself, so it will be advantageous for you if you compared rates.

Low interest rates will be a good choice for you if you're the type of consumer who prefers to pay for your credit card purchases on an installment basis, with payments spread out for several months. That way, you won't be saddled with high monthly payments and end up paying more.

Other fees and features

Annual fees and penalties are another thing to watch out for when you're considering credit card offers. There are also corresponding fees for other transactions such as balance transfers and cash advances. You might also want to check what features come with a credit card, such as rebates, rewards programs, discounts, warranties and even insurance.

Mind the fine print.

The fine print can be deceiving, so make sure you read it before signing up. You might be attracted to one credit card because of the low interest rates only to find out later that the rates are part of an introductory offer and that you'll be saddled with a much higher APR after only a few months. A credit card offer is only as good as the fine print, so choose well.

Take charge.

You don’t have to be passive about your credit card choice nor do you need o be stuck with what's being offered to you. Write down what your needs are and what kind of features you'd want in a credit card. Next, pick up the phone and ask several credit card companies for their best offers. If you take a more proactive role in choosing your credit card, you're more likely to find one that will fit you best.

Articles from : Articlecity.com

How To Deal With Bankruptcy?

by: Peter Kenny

Did you know that today more individuals are turning toward personal bankruptcy as a way of solving their financial hardships? It is true.

During the period from 1998 through 2000 there was a decrease in the filings for bankruptcies but that is not how it is now. New estimates say this year nearly 1 in 70 people will file for some sort of bankruptcy protection. Depending on how the sub-prime mortgage fiasco goes that number may go higher.

One of the major reasons people seek protection from the courts is the unrelenting pressure that some bill collectors place on people who are delinquent on their payments. Others may find that bankruptcy is the only way they get their debts discharged with any sense of organization or with any hope of ever getting back to some sense of a normal life.

For those who absolutely need it, bankruptcy can be the best answer, but there are drawbacks to filing for it. These drawbacks can be severe for most people.

New laws have been passed that make it much harder to find relief from the courts. The simple truth is that many big financial institutions have been spending millions of dollars on Political Action Committee (PACs) to push tougher laws through Congress. Some experts suggest that as much as $75 million has been spent over the last few of years to get lawmakers to change the bankruptcy rules. Of course this worked, and Congress has passed these new laws.

Once a court has approved your bankruptcy filing, it will stay on your credit report for ten years. However, many people do not realize that it will stay on their court report for life. This can present problems later on if a person is trying to get a high-level job or a security clearance.

The new laws that went into effect in 2005 are designed to keep more people out of bankruptcy than to allow in. New requirements have been set up such as pre-bankruptcy credit counseling requirements. Numerous other requirements have been established as well. All in all, the days of being able to file for protection under the courts with ease are over.

Because the new laws can often be very confusing to consumers it is suggested that they seek the advice of a qualified bankruptcy attorney before making any decisions. In some cases, people who wish to file for bankruptcy may not be able to do so. Knowing in advance if you even have a chance of being approved for your filing can save you and your family a lot of time and money and emotional distress.

You can find copies of the new laws online but this should not preclude you from getting expert advice as well. If at all possible, consumers should seek other options before filing for bankruptcy protection. These other options may not discharge your debts as bankruptcy may do but they are much easier to live with in the long run, and they do not cause as much damage to your future credit ability.

Articles from : Articlecity.com
